School parking restrictions continue despite strike

Chicago parking restrictions near schools are still in effect despite the ongoing teachers strike, according to the city Department of Finance.

There is no temporary lifting of the parking restrictions, including no parking zones near schools, Deputy Comptroller Holly Stutz told RedEye.

Teachers began striking Monday after their labor union and the city failed to reach an agreement on a contract.
