A 17-year-old boy and a 34-year-old woman were shot to death in the 2100 block of East 96th Place, police said.
South Deering has logged four homicides so far this year. The South Side community area recorded three homicides last year, RedEye data shows.

Meanwhile, a man was found beaten to death July 19 in the 2300 block of South Pulaski Road in North Lawndale, police said.
