Pirates 4, Red Sox 3 The first stop on my tour of Florida spring training parks (10 games in six days) was McKechnie Field in Bradenton, about half an hour north of my hometown of Sarasota. These parks are smaller than their big-league counterparts. McKechnie Field is the Pirates playpen but although PNC Park in Pittsburgh has stunning bridge and water views, McKechnie doesn't showcase the Bradenton waterfront. Still, the park has many beer options including a Kona Brewing Co. bar, though that feels more Hawaii than Pittsburgh. Not unique to the park or Florida was the fact that it rained most of the game. The fans in attendance, mostly elderly, left quickly, but the rest of us didn't get out of joint.
