Armstrong uttered one of the most famous phrases ever when he stepped onto the surface: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." But perhaps the greatest phrase from the visit is printed on a plaque the two left on the surface of teh moon: "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot on the moon--July 1969 A.D--We came in peace for all mankind." Humans walked on the moon. But we have yet to conquer the common cold. |
