"White Collar" takes the danger up as notch but remains pure escapist fun as it resumes its third season (9 p.m. Tuesday, USA; 3 stars).
When we last visited New York City, we weren't really sure if con man Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) was going back to his old ways after snatching stolen art treasures with his con man crony Mozzie (Willie Garson). Neither was his FBI agent partner/handler, Peter Burke (Tim DeKay). Neal's nemesis, Matthew Keller (Ross McCall), returned to claim the treasure for himself and to get it he kidnapped Peter's wife, Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen).
The search for Elizabeth heats up Tuesday, but Peter's understandably having trust issues when it comes to Neal. Creator Jeff Eastin keeps viewers guessing in clever, enjoyable ways.
