Thirty Seconds To Mars announces ‘The Monolith Tour’

Thirty Seconds To Mars, the rock band led by actor/musician Jared Leto, is mounting a two-month North American concert trek and is taking several other bands along for the ride.

“The Monolith Tour” will begin on June 6 at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage and conclude July 22 at Phoenix’s Ak-Chin Pavilion. There will be at least three California dates, including a July 21 San Diego show at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre.

All tour dates, cities and ticket information appear below. Walk The Moon, K.Flay, MisterWives, Joywave and Welshly Arms will be the opening acts for select dates.

The tour will follow the April release of Thirty Seconds To Mars’ new album on Interscope Records. Each ticket purchase for the band’s upcoming tour will also include a copy of its new album.

Leto announced the tour on Thursday’s edition of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and gave each audience member a ticket to an upcoming show on the tour.

Tickets for “The Monolith Tour” will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com and by phone at (800) 745-3000.

A pre-sale for Citi card holders begins Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time.

Ticket prices for the San Diego show range from $34.50 to $104.50 each, plus service charges.

In an apparent time-warp snafu, as of this writing, the livenation.com link for the July 21 “The Monolith Tour” San Diego show includes the art work and lineup for the Sept. 16, 2014, Mattress Firm Amphitheatre concert by Linkin Park, Thirty Seconds To Mars and AFI.
