3 Injured during filming of new Bond flick in Austria

Three members of the crew working on “SPECTRE,” the new James Bond film, were injured last week in an accident during the shooting of a dangerous stunt at the Sölden ski area in the Austrian tyrol, Austrian news agency APA reported Wednesday.

The accident occurred last Thursday when an automobile hit a camera platform, trapping a Briton between the vehicle and the structure, APA said, citing Austrian police.

The Briton and another member of the crew were seriously injured, while a third member of the crew sustained minor injuries.

Shooting of the stunt had ended when the driver of the automobile lost control, police commander Herbert Juen told APA.

The three injured members of the crew are Britons ages 28, 52 and 53, police said, without revealing their names.

The two most seriously injured men were flown by helicopter to a hospital, while the third man was treated by doctors at the scene.

Shooting for “SPECTRE,” which is being directed by Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig as Agent 007, is taking place in several countries.

The crew started shooting scenes in the Austrian Alps in early January.

The 24th installment in the James Bond series is headlined by Craig, who also starred as 007 in “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace” and “Skyfall,” and costars Italian actress Monica Bellucci and Austrian actor Christoph Waltz, who plays the villain.

“SPECTRE” is slated to open on Nov. 6.
