Actress Hayden Panettiere gives birth to her first child

Actress Hayden Panettiere has given birth to her first child, a girl, People magazine reported.

The 26yearold Panettiere, who is engaged to Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko, gave birth last Tuesday, a representative for the actress said.

The girl, whose name is Kaya Klitschko, weighed 3.5 kilos (nearly eight pounds).

“We are over the moon and madly in love!” the new parents told the magazine.

The actress said last month that she was happy that her first child was going to be a girl.

“I’m thrilled that I am having a girl first because I feel like I know a lot about raising a strong woman,” she told Hello magazine.

Panettiere, who is known for her roles in films like “Scream 4” and the television series “Nashville,” said in October that she was engaged to the 38yearold boxer.
