Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz is gearing up for his new Spanish tour for his album “Sirope”; In an interview with EFE, he shares his feelings about his latest adventure and what it’s like to work in a field in which “it is easy to lose your mind.”

“On the road to success, in any profession, there is always a time where you lose focus; moments when you think you need to save the world, others when you believe nobody is going to get you off the stage and that your concerts will always be crowded. Later on, life gives you a couple of smacks and you come back to reality.”

This week, Sanz is rehearsing his new tour to present “Sirope” (2015), his new album that, according to Sanz, tells the story of his youth when he dreamed about his first time on stage and then finally made it.

The Spanish songwriter said he wants to tell his fans to hold on to their dreams and fight to make them come true.

After 25 years in the profession, Sanz said, he still “shits his pants” when it’s time to get on stage, feeling a distinct sense of pressure and responsibility: “I don’t want to disappoint the fans.”

Sanz said he did not know if he would participate in the next season of the Spanish rendition of “The Voice,” the last season of which just finished, while he emphasized the impact that competition had on his life.

Yet his priorities are clear, he said. The 46 yearold singer knows he wants to focus on his new tour, which will kick off on July 30 in Cordoba and in September will stop at the Barclaycard Center in Madrid and the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
