Renowned Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, whose movie “Julieta” is competing in the Cannes Film Festival, downplayed the leak of his name and his brother’s (Augustine) in the Panama papers.

On the possible impact of the leak on the audience’s reaction to his film, the Spanish director said “my name and my brother’s name are some of the least important names in the Panama papers.”

Almodovar explained that if the leak was a film, then he and his brother would “even be extras.”

He pointed out that the Spanish media cast him and his brother in leading roles, although there were other names involved and investigations have not been conducted.

Almodovar added that the leak would not prevent audiences from watching his movie.
