The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Boston Red Sox 54 in Game 3 of the World Series, with the game ending on a controversial call by the umpires.

Third base umpire Jim Joyce called Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks for obstructing the Cardinals’ Allen Craig as he tried to score in the 9th inning on Saturday night.

Craig appeared to have been tagged out at home plate by Boston catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, but home plate umpire Dana DeMuth signaled “safe” and immediately pointed to third base, confirming the obstruction call.
