Creator of “The Simpsons” prepares animated series for Netflix

The creator of “The Simpsons,” Matt Groening, is preparing an animated cartoon series for the Netflix digital content platform, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The entertainment news publication said that following “The Simpsons” and “Futurama,” Groening will develop this new series about which, for now, neither the title nor the plot nor the characters have been announced.

Nonetheless, The Hollywood Reporter said that Groening’s new series for Netflix could run for two seasons and a total of 20 episodes.

Groening is the creator of “The Simpsons,” one of the most famous and popular series in the history of television and which is currently in its 27th season.

The adventures of the Simpson family began on television in 1989 and the series has been confirmed to continue through its 28th season, during which it will have broadcast a total of more than 600 episodes.
