U.K. actor Daniel Craig has rejected a 68 million sterling ($99.3 million) deal to star in the next two new James Bond films, as he said he is “done” playing the 007 role, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

The Daily Mail explained that the actor, 48, told directors at MGM Studios company that he would not repeat the Bond role, despite the “huge amounts of money” offered to him.

“Spectre” (2015) was the fourth and last film starring Craig as Bond.

The Mail pointed out that Craig informed the producers that “Spectre” would be his last film of the series, but the company believed the British actor could return if he “was offered a money deal.”

The company emphasizes that Craig wanted to stop playing the spy due to a knee injury during filming “Spectre.”

Reports say British actor Tom Hiddleston, 35, known for his roles in “Thor” and “The Avengers” will be the next James Bond, while other favorites include Idris Elba and Damian Lewis.
