The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine, took their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to spend a vacation in the French Alps, where they were photographed in the snow.

Kensington Palace, the official residence of the duke and duchess, have released photos of the couple with 2yearold George, and Charlotte, who is almost one year old.

The pictures were taken last Thursday, a day after the family arrived in the Alps.

The palace did not specify the exact location where they spent the break, but published a total of six photos taken by photographer John Stillwell.

“This was their first holiday as a family of four and the first time either of the children had played in the snow,” a spokesman from Kensington Palace said on Monday.

“It was very special and fun short holiday for the family, and they are grateful that John Stillwell was able to capture the moment so well. The duke and duchess hope people enjoy the photos,” he added.

Prince William has been the target of criticism from the media due to his small number of official duties, in spite of being second in line of succession to the throne.
