Federer defeats Nishikori, reaches ATP year-end tourney semifinals

Swiss world No. 3 Roger Federer defeated Japan’s Kei Nishikori on Thursday in the third round of Group Stan Smith at Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London, thus qualifying for the semifinals of the tournament.

Federer was able to defeat the Japanese in two sets against one 75, 46, 64 in a match that lasted one hour and ten minutes where both players committed many easy faults.

With this victory, the Swiss player has secured the first of his group and his place in the semifinals.
