Former PM David Cameron to resign from British Parliament role
London, Sep 12 (EFE). —
The former British Prime Minister announced Monday that he is to resign from his place in Parliament as a lawmaker.
David Cameron said in a statement that he would no longer be serving as the representative for the Witney constituency in Parliament.
“I don’t think it’s possible to be a proper backbench MP (Member of Parliament) as a former Prime Minister,” the Conservative politician told the press.
“Everything you do can become a distraction and a big diversion from what the Government needs to do for our country,” he said.
