German Kerber qualifies to WTA finals in Singapore

German Angelique Kerber booked her place at the 2015 BNP Paribas WTA Èinals in Singapore, according to the Women’s Tennis Association, or WTA, on Wednesday.

Kerber’s place into the finals came after the defeat of Czech Lucie Safarova by Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 61, 67 (2), 63 in the tennis tournament in Moscow.

The participation of Safarova in the WTA finals, scheduled to be held in Singapore from Oct. 25 to Nov. 1, will depend on the performance of Italian Flavia Pennetta, Spanish Carla Suarez and Czech Karolina Pliskova in the Moscow tournament.

Kerber joined Romanian Simona Halep, Spanish Garbine Muguruza, Russian Maria Sharapova, Czech Petra Kvitova and Polish Agnieszka Radwanska, who have already qualified to the WTA finals.
