Kabul, Islamabad condemn Turkey airport attack

Afghanistan and Pakistan condemned Tuesday’s triple suicide bombing attack on the Ataturk airport in Istanbul, in which at least 36 people were killed, and underlined terrorism as a global threat.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani stressed that terrorism is a big threat to regional as well as global security, and insisted on the need for joint action by all countries, according to a statement by his office.

He added Afghan people empathize with Turkey, as they too live under the shadow of terrorism.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and offered condolences to the people and the government of Turkey, according to an official statement.

The triple suicide bombing attack on the Ataturk airport in Istanbul late Tuesday left at least 36 dead and 147 wounded.

Turkey suspects that terror group Islamic State was behind the attack.
