Leaked documents reveal Jeb Bush’s campaign strategy against Marco Rubio

A 112page document of Republican presidential Jeb Bush’s campaign, leaked by U.S. News Thursday, reveals a strategy focused on attacking Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

The document consists of 112 slides including internal polls, the objectives of the campaign in the key state of Iowa and the media plan for January 2016.

However, what stands out most is the confirmation of a strategy directed at undermining Republican rival Marco Rubio’s support.

One of the slides, aimed at donors, is titled “Marco Is A Risky Bet” and lists a number of reasons why, according to Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s campaign, they must think twice before giving their support to Rubio.

It recalls that Rubio was involved in a controversy for using the party’s credit card for personal expenses during his term as legislator for Florida.

It also points out that, in 2005, Rubio and former Congressman David Rivera jointly bought a house on which they subsequently faced foreclosure, and which Rubio ultimately sold for a loss of $18,000.

“Those who have looked into the Marco’s background in the past have been concerned with what they have found,” concludes the slide, which also highlights what it calls the lack of endorsements for Rubio’s campaign in Florida.

Bush and Rubio clashed over the latter’s repeated absence from Senate votes in the third Republican debate held Wednesday.
