Legendary band The Rolling Stones to perform in Colombia in 2015

The legendary rock and roll band The Rolling Stones are to perform in the Colombian city of Medellin in 2015 as part of a South American concert, Mayor Anibal Gaviria has announced.

Gaviria said the city had worked hard to include Medellin on the Stones itinerary, but did not disclose the date of the concert.

It will be the first concert in Colombia by the British group.

“We hope that official notice will be provided by the concert organizers along with the exact date,” Gaviria told Caracol Radio.

According to local press reports, the concert is to take place in the second half of 2015.

Such international pop stars as Madonna and Beyonce have performed in Medellin.

Considered one of the greatest bands in the history of rock, The Rolling Stones was founded in 1962 by Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ian Stewart, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts.
