Australian actors Hugh Jackman and Levi Miller, as well as British director Joe Wright, were on hand for the Mexico City premiere of “Pan,” a new adaptation of the story about a boy who would not grow up.

A multiplex in the Mexican capital was selected for Tuesday’s screening of the film, which tells the story of Peter Pan’s arrival in Neverland, his relationship with Capt. Hook before he becomes a pirate and his first meetings with the other characters in the classic tale.

The actors and director were welcomed at the theater by fans of the character popularized by Walt Disney.

“Pan” also stars Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara and Amanda Seyfried.

Jackman plays Blackbeard the pirate, the nemesis of Pan, who is played by Miller.
