A new version of the popular film “Ghostbusters” is to open on U.S. screens on Jul. 22, 2016, according to the movie’s director and screenwriter, Paul Feig, who also announced an allfemale cast for the franchise on Twitter on Tuesday.

Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy, who costarred in “Bridesmaids”, have been signed for the reboot, along with Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

Wiig, McKinnon and Jones are regulars on the U.S. comedy show, Saturday Night Live.

Ivan Reitman, who helmed the original “Ghostbusters” (1984) and “Ghostbusters II” (1989), will produce the new movie that still has no official title and whose plot has not been revealed.

“Ghostbusters”, which was nominated for two Oscars (for visual effects and best original song), recounts the misadventures of a group of scientists specializing in paranormal phenomena who, after getting fired from their jobs in the university, decide to set up a business of catching ghosts in New York.

The American Film Institute ranks the movie 28th on the list of the 100 best comedies in history.

The film gave rise to several TV spinoffs, video games and even comics, as well as a memorable soundtrack and iconic dialogues such as “Who you gonna call?” and propelled its actors to stardom, especially Bill Murray who has gone on to make a name for himself for his deadpan humor.

Harold Ramis, screenwriter and actor in the two original films, died in 2014, putting an end to the rumored return of the movie’s original team of ghostbusters.
