Nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, other celebs, posted online

The social networks are buzzing on Monday with the commotion sparked by the online leaking of intimate nude photographs of celebrities in sensual poses, including actress Jennifer Lawrence.

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy,” a spokesperson for “The Hunger Games” star said in a statement. “The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

The list of celebrities suffering the apparent massive hacking into a cloud data service includes Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Victoria Justice, Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton, Lea Michelle, Mary Kate Olsen and Kirsten Dunst, according to Buzzfeed.com, which says that the photos were posted by a hacker identified as “4chan.”

Although so far it is not known how the photos were acquired, various media outlets have said that the images had been obtained illicitly after a cloud data storage platform was hacked into.

Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande said the images purporting to show them were fake.

However, Mary Elizabeth Winstead acknowledged that the images purporting to be hers were authentic.

“To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves,” she said on Twitter.

This is not the first time that the rich and famous have been the targets of hackers who have posted personal material on the Internet, with Paris Hilton, Cristina Aguilera and Scarlett Johansson suffering similar embarrassing attacks.
