Oscars Red Carpet: the sexiest and best dressed

Although Charlize Theron, star of the movie ‘Mad Max’, was not nominated for any Oscar in the 88th annual edition of the Academy Awards, she was the best dressed.

Among the celebrities at the most anticipated red carpet event of the year, Theron and Charlotte Rampling stood out from the crowd.

The South African actress, Theron, with her hair in a low bun, appeared with a long red Dior gown with thin straps and plunging neckline which almost touched her navel.

She completed the look with fabulous earrings, rings and a long diamond necklace by Harry Winston valued at more than $3.5 million.

If Theron chose to reveal skin, Rampling, nominated for best actress for the first time with ’45 years’ preferred covering up with a simple and elegant longsleeved gown.

Alicia Vikander, who won the Oscar for best supporting actress with ‘The Danish Girl’ looked radiant in a yellow Louis Vuitton gown with silver beaded embroidery.

Daisy Ridley, the new ‘Star Wars’ heroine, also opted for a Chanel gown, a colorful and flirty strapless dress with V neckline studded with small flowers.

More restrained than on other occasions and almost appearing on the list of worst dressed, Lady Gaga appeared on the red carpet in a pants gown with generous neckline designed by Brandon Maxwell.

Among the most unfortunate designs of the night was Kate Winslet’s black metallic gown. Model Heidi Klum arrived at the event with a mauve oneshoulder chiffon dress by Marchesa Fashion.

Among the actors, it was hard to beat the elegance of Eddie Redmayne, nominated for best actor, who attended the event with a black velvet jacket and slipper shoes.

Full of hopes to collect the award for best actor in which he succeeded Leonardo DiCaprio arrived in a black tuxedo, white shirt and patent leather shoes with laces, a classic style with his hair combed back.

The 88th edition of the Oscars will go down in history as one of the most uninspiring red carpets. We will have to wait and see if the actresses can trust their stylists again.
