Queen Elizabeth II appeared in public for the first time Wednesday with the three future monarchs of England, her son Charles, her grandson William and her greatgrandson George, at the baptism of the 3monthold prince.

Shortly before the private ceremony began in the royal chapel of St. James Palace, the four royals were photographed by television cameras and still photographers.

Accompanied by his wife Kate, Prince William carried his son the third in line for the crown in his arms.

This is the first time that the child has been photographed in public since he left the hospital on July 22.

Attending the baptism, at which the Archbishop of Canterbury officiated, were just 22 invited guests selected by the parents, including the seven godparents, all of whom are personal friends of the couple and including Zara Phillips, William’s cousin.

Queen Elizabeth, 87, chose to wear on the occasion a suit with a blue widebrimmed sun hat, while her daughterinlaw Camilla, Charles’ wife, wore white and George’s mother opted for beige.

Also attending the ceremony were Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and husband of the queen, and Prince Harry, the younger son of Charles and the late Princess Diana.
