Robert Rodriguez returns to big screen with “Sin City” sequel

Hispanic filmmaker Robert Rodriguez again worked with graphic novelist Frank Miller to create the longawaited sequel to “Sin City” (2005) christened “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.”

The movie, which premiered nationwide in the United States on Friday, features a cast that includes Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Josh Brolin, Rosario Dawson, Bruce Willis and Joseph GordonLevitt, who portray characters taken from the dark comicbook world of Miller’s imagination and whose stories run into and around one another.

The sequel inherits the spirit of the original, its aesthetics and pace seasoned with a thirst for vengeance against a corrupt power, which is what moves the plot along.

The first “Sin City,” starring Rourke, Willis, Alba, Benicio Del Toro and Clive Owen, grossed more than $160 million. EFE
