Share

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich invited Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Salma Hayek, Woody Allen and George Lucas to join him at Friday’s inauguration of a new contemporary art center, Garage.

The guests, including designer Miuccia Prada, will attend the opening ceremony and dine with Abramovich and his wife, Daria Zhukova, the director of the center, in an exclusive restaurant in Moscow.

Known for his reluctance to fly transatlantic, Allen and Lucas arrived on Thursday night in the Russian capital.

Garage was originally opened in 2008 but, due to lack of space, has been transferred to Gorky Park on the banks of the Moskva River, one of the city’s most popular recreational locations.

Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, considered one of the most influential architects in the world, took charge of renovating a historic building in the park, which had been abandoned for over 20 years and previously served as a popular Sovietera restaurant.
