Spanish tennis player Garbiñe Muguruza hopes to claim this year’s Wuhan Open trophy in China, after withdrawing from last year’s final against Venus Williams due to injury.

The world no. 3 said that she has “good memories” of her participation into last year edition, noting that she wants to compensate for what happened in the last final.

Last week Muguruza could not get past the quarterfinals in Tokyo after losing to Ukranian Elina Svitolina.

In Wuhan, Muguruza will start as second seed and will be exempt from competing in the first round so she will debut in the second against Serbian Jelena Jankovic, who defeated Australian Daria Gavrilova 62, 62.
