Spain’s Verdasco Montanes advances to Swedish Open quarterfinals

Spanish Fernando Verdasco, seeded fifth, qualified on Wednesday to the Swedish Open quarterfinals.

Verdasco, 32, defeated compatriot Albert Montanes 63, 62 in one hour and 11 minutes.

The Spaniard will now face in the quarterfinals Argentine Facundo Bagnis, who defeated Spanish Marcel Granollers, seeded fourth, in the second round 75, 63.
