“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” challenge “X-Men” at box office

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” premieres this weekend in the U.S. in a bid to snatch boxoffice supremacy from “XMen: Apocalypse,” which took in more than $65.7 million last weekend.

Directed by Dave Green, the movie has more humor and action than its predecessor as the turtles return to the big screen to fight a new enemy, though once again with help from journalist April O’Neil (Megan Fox).

Also making its debut this weekend is the romance “Me Before You,” directed by Thea Sharrock and based on the bestselling book by Jojo Moyes.

The comedy “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” and the drama “The Fits” are likewise set to reach theaters this weekend.
