Tsipras hopes E.U. summit will help reduce migration flows

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras hoped that the summit of the European Union and Turkey held on Monday will help reduce flows of refugees to Europe and accelerate transfers between countries.

Tsipras said on arrival at the meeting that the situation of refugees “is our common problem. It’s not a problem of one country, it’s a European problem that needs a European solution.”

The Greek premier complained that between the two EU summits held in recent months to address the situation of refugees “there were agreements that were not implemented” and said this is a problem for Europe.

Tsipras said he is looking forward to substantial results in this meeting between the European Union and Turkey to implement the action plan to considerably reduce flows and combat trafficking networks.

At the same time, he added that it is necessary to significantly accelerate the process of relocating refugees.
