Dragana Haines, the widow of U.K. aid worker David Haines, who was killed in Syria by the Islamic State, IS, jihadist group, called for Mohammed Emwazi, popularly known as “Jihadi John,” to be captured alive, according to local media on Friday.

The widow of Haines said in statements circulated by media that the “last thing” she wants for the man who murdered her husband is an “honorable death.”

Haines made these remarks after the BBC and the Washington Post revealed the name of the masked jihadist, who has been identified as a young British graduate in computer science.

David Haines was aged 44 when he was brutally executed by the IS in September last year in Syria.

Haines daughter, Bethany, confirmed that divulging the identity of “Jihadi John” was a good step, saying she would feel very relieved if she saw him dead. “I think all the families will feel closure and relief once there’s a bullet between his eyes,” she admitted.

The aid worker’s daughter pointed out that her father just wanted to help the world, regardless of people’s race or religion, adding that even if he had been released, he would have returned back to the conflicted region again and again.

The identity of Mohammed Emwazi, the IS’s most famous executioner (who appears in several videos beheading western hostages), was revealed on Thursday.
