Zooey Deschanel expects first child this summer

U.S. actress Zooey Deschanel and producer Jacob Pechenik are awaiting their first child this summer, the couple have told People magazine.

“Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one,” said Deschanel who is also a singer and a producer.

Deschanel, who is at a great moment professionally, is the protagonist of the hit Fox series ‘New Girl’, has been with Pechenik since mid2014 and they worked together in the comedy film ‘Rock the Kasbah’.

Deschanel, the voice of the indiefolk group of She & Him was married to the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and the Postal Service, Ben Gibbard, from September to December 2012.

The 34yearold actress will share her pregnancy and motherhood with sister Emily Deschanel, 38, the star of the hit series ‘Bones’ and who is expecting her second child with actorhusband David Hornsby.

Deschanel is also famous for her roles in suhc films as ‘Almost Famous’ (2002), ‘Elf’ (2003), ‘Failure to Launch’ (2006), ‘The Happening’ (2008), ‘Yes Man’ (2008) and ‘500 Days of Summer’ (2009).

Her role in ‘New Girl’ has earned her nominations at the Golden Globe, Grammy, Emmy People’s Choice Awards and Critics Choice Awards for best actress.
