Jack Klunder was named President, Los Angeles Times Newspaper in February 2008. He is responsible for leading The Times core print business.
Most of his career has been in Circulation with responsibility for all aspects of circulation sales and distribution. Since 2000, he had served as senior vice president, circulation, for Los Angeles Newspaper Group's (LANG) eight Southern California suburban newspapers.
Before joining LANG, Klunder spent 20 years with The Times, where he served as director of circulation from 1988 to 1996. During that time, The Times became the largest metropolitan daily in the country and reached its all-time highs in both daily and Sunday circulation. He began his career with the newspaper in 1976 as a single copy driver/inserter and later held various staff and management positions in The Times' circulation department.
From 1996 to 1999, he served first as director of sales and marketing at Financial Management Control of Arizona, Inc. and then served two years as a founding partner of Equant Marketing Group, LLC.
Klunder attended the UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Program and studied business management at Pepperdine University.
His professional memberships include the Cal Western Circulation Managers' Association. and the Major/Metro Newspaper group. Klunder also serves on the Aztec Parent Advisory Board at San Diego State University.
