The Big Easy Poker Room has added another free-roll to its calendar, making for a tournament every night at the Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach -- six of them free.
This one is at 7 p.m. Fridays and it's a $2,500 Texas Hold 'em shootout. That means that the player who survives at each table moves on to the final table, taking the accrued chips along. The first night is Feb. 7.
There's a $1,000 guaranteed first prize, and as usual with these free-rolls, there's some chip-ups. In this case, players start with 500 chips, get 7,000 more for a $30 dealer tip/addon, and get $20 unlimited and unrestricted rebuys for $20 (4,000 units, only during the first six rounds).
Then there are up to two $30 add-ons for 7,000 units after round six and a $40 add-on for 15,000 units at the final table. So that means if I'm playing, I'd do the $30 for sure, probably a $30 after round six and if I made the final table, I'd think the 15,000 was mandatory. So, that's $100. Just to be clear...
The other free-rolls: At 7 p.m. Saturday is a $2,500 guaranteed prize money and $1,000 guaranteed for first. There are also four $1,500-guarantee free-roll events: Texas hold 'em at 7 p.m. Monday and Thursday, pot-limit Omaha on Wednesday and a shootout format on Sunday. Tuesday is a $115 buy in Omaha hi/lo with dedicated royal progressive.
Meanwhile, the casino has $1,000 high hands every 30 minutes from noon to 10 p.m. daily, and $100 every 10 minutes from 10 a.m. to noon.
The fine print: That's if the high hand hits at $2-$5 no-limit or higher. It's $750 for $3-$6 limit or higher and $500 for other games, such as $1-$2 no-limit.
Qualifying starts at 10 a.m. and players can win with zero, one or two cards in hand.
