In a pairing likely to be among the most lucrative tours of 2014, Paul Simon and Sting will bring their On Stage Together show to the BB&T Center in Sunrise on March 15.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Nov. 18, with tickets expected to range from $45 to $250. Tickets will be available on Wednesday to fans of the artists’ at their websites, PaulSimon.com and Sting.com.
The concerts will include solo sets by the two longtime friends and a section of the evening devoted to its central theme, On Stage Together.
As Sting told the New York Times: "Paul and I both share this abiding curiosity about music and where it's going. We don't really know where this is going. We don't really have a clue how this is going to pan out."
Paul Simon, 72, is a 12-time Grammy winner, including three album of the year awards for "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Still Crazy After All These Years" and "Graceland." He is in the Rock ’n' Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist and as a member of Simon and Garfunkel.
Last month he released two collections of music: “Over The Bridge Of Time: A Paul Simon Retrospective (1964-2011),” a 20-song compilation of hits, and the massive “Complete Albums Collection.”
A 16-time Grammy winner, the 62-year-old Sting’s Rock 'n’ Roll Hall of Fame career has meandered from the reggae-tinged pop of the Police to a rich solo career flavored by jazz, R&B and world beat. In September he released his first album of new material in nearly a decade, “The Last Ship,” a collection based on his Broadway-bound musical of the same name.
