WEEK OF THE OCEAN SCHOOL MARINE FAIR
Through May 2. The Broward County Schools participate in the "Week of the Ocean" School Marine Fair yearly. Students K-12 submitted entries in the following categories: ocean-themed posters, ocean-related science projects, marine crafts, ocean art, poetry, satire, underwater habitats and CDs or DVDs on a marine topic. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL
May 1. Join the Hispano-Latino Alliance for food, entertainment, kid’s activities and dancing. Don’t miss the 4th Annual Chihuahua Race! 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Old School Square, 51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach. 561-276-3396. $10.

POLYNESIAN FESTIVAL
May 1. The whole family can enjoy live Polynesian entertainment, South Pacific arts and crafts and a variety of dance groups including: Tahitian dance, Maori, Hawaiian and Samoan dance. Noon-9 p.m. Oakland Park, 4000 N. Dixie Highway, Oakland Park. 954-938-9010.

SUN FESTIVAL HEALTH AND SAFETY FAIR
May 1. A health and safety fair with vendors of products, doctors and activities providing health and information. For kids there will be live performances, carnival games, Billy the Marlin and the Marlins Street team, face painting and more. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Coral Park Elementary, 8401 Westview Dr., Coral Springs. 754-322-5850, ext. 320. KIDS FEST WEEKEND
May 1-2. Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre presents an entire weekend of theatre fun for the whole family during the “15th Annual National Children’s Theatre Festival Kids Fest.” The weekend will feature activities geared toward children and their families. BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL
May 2. Local bluegrass talent is showcased at this monthly festival, held the first Sunday of every month, except for holiday weekends. 12:30-5:30 p.m. Greynolds Park, 17530 W. Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach. 305-945-5641. Free.

PETS, PRINCES AND PRINCESSES: PHOTO DAY AND PET FAIR
May 2. A photographer will take your pet’s portrait alone or with the whole family! Activities include games, pet costume contest, food booths and more! A trainer will answer questions or you can sign up for obedience training. Professionals will discuss pet wellness care, nutrition, dental care, flea and tick prevention and more! 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Silver Lakes Animal Hospital, 17780 SW 2nd St., Pembroke Pines. 954-441-1001. FAMILY FEST
May 8. Featuring family-friendly out-of-doors activities and performances! Families will have a blast at this fun-filled day full of music, dancing, hands-on demonstrations and mini-workshops. 11:30 a.m. Adrienne Arsht Center, 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. 786-468-2000. Free.

MOTHER'S DAY FAIR
May 8. An afternoon of treats and pampering for moms! The first 200 moms will receive goodie bags loaded with samples to spoil them as they explore the aisles sampling wines, body care items, cosmetics and delicious foods. UNIFEST
May 23. A celebration of culture of the Caribbean. Unifest features an extravagant showcase of art, music, cultural tent, domino and netball. A parade of flags will adorn the symbols and costumes from the many countries and islands of the Caribbean. Steel Pan music and food will showcase the flavor of the diverse community. 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Vincent Torres Memorial Park, 4331 NW 36th St., Lauderdale Lakes. Free.

PALM BEACH JERK FESTIVAL
May 31. Tons of fun activities for the entire family. Children can enjoy the kid’s corner which will have activities and attractions such as clowns, face-painting, bounce-house, waterslides and rock-climbing. Sample delectable Caribbean food and jam to live performances from bands from the Caribbean. 2-10 p.m. Meyer Amphitheatre, 104 Datura St., West Palm Beach. 561-236-6249.
