South Florida airports are reporting several flight cancellations and delays to cities in the Northeastern U.S. corridor due to a mega storm that's targeting the area.
As of 3:20 p.m. Friday 69 arrival and departure flights were cancelled at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport through midnight, airport spokeman Allan Siegel said in an email statement. Another 31 arriving and departing flights were delayed for the same period.
is also seeing several flight cancellations to the northeast U.S., spokeswoman Casandra Davis said Friday.
Davis is advising travelers to check the airport's website for details on affected flights and to make sure they contact their respective airlines for the most accurate flight status.
As of 4 p.m. Friday Miami International Airport still had only 13 arrival cancellations from Boston, Newark and New York and 30 cancelled departure flights to Boston, New York, Newark and Hartford, Conn., spokesman Marc Henderson said in an email. The airlines affected are United, Delta and American.
