Comment: Sacramento, a four-year varsity starter and a second-team All-County selection a season ago, proved to be one of South Florida¿s most dominant pitchers with a knack for excelling in the biggest games. Along with her state championship performance, she helped lead Pines Charter to the Gold Bracket championship in the Kissimmee Klassic, one of the state's top high school softball tournaments. "Cristina took a young team, a team that had problems playing catch, and helped guide them and lead them to a state championship. She was totally amazing. She was so focused and on a mission and she led by example," said Pembroke Pines Charter coach Tom Fadul. Athlete's quote: "We passed a lot of people's expectations. We lost districts and that pushed us even more through regionals and state. Being state champions is definitely the highlight. We've been waiting for this since softball started at our school. We didn't just make softball history, we made school history and everyone was proud of us, even other teams. I put everything I had into the state championship game. I knew it was all or nothing. We didn't want to be the runner-up again."
