Q. What previous actions by you demonstrate that you have the honesty, integrity, ethics and personal character to be an elected official?

A. Business ethics are a priority and referral business depends upon my honesty and integrity, as well as my reputation and character to be successfu. For many years as a commissioner in North Lauderdale, I made an effort to always monitor my activities with the city attorney and those who could keep me on the right track to be the best I could be.

Q. What are your top priorities if elected, including your long-term vision for the city? Do you have any city ordinances, policies, regulations or charter amendments to suggest?

A. My top priority if elected is to make government more responsive to the needs of the people., all the people working to lower property taxes as well as upgrading services to the residences, better managing the redevelopment of the downtown area and through consolidation of services with other cities.

Q. Where in the city budget would you like to cecrease and increase spending, and why?

A. I will look to trim the fat while increasing services as well as the quality of life for the residents of Margate.

Q. Briefly discuss your views on these issues:

a. The performance of the city manager and how it could be improved.

This will be one of my jobs as a commissioner, to make policy so the manager can put it into practice Evaluations should be an ongoing process for all staff.

b. The best and worst decisions by the city commission recently, and how its performance could be improved.

This all stems from redevelopment and taxation, the two areas of concern as well as roads, etc.

c. Ways to upagrade older neighborhoods and fight blight.

Redevelopment will handle this project.

d. Ways to improve city growth management to make sure services keep pace and cope with eventual build out.

Buildout has arrived and better money handling practices ae needed.

e. Ways for the city to cooperate with surrounding cities and county government.

Cooperation and consolidation are priorities in these changing times.

f. Ways to improve the city's downtown area.


g. Ways to improve relations among different ethnic groups in the city.

Community involvement and communications with the residents.

h. Your thoughts on proposed annexations of unincorporated areas, if any.

I like annexation but there's none in the area.

Q. How can city government become more responsive, accountable, streamlined, efficient, productive and user-friendly?

A. This should be the goal of every elected official: to strive to make government responsive to these principles as I call them of good governing.

Q. What should be done to increase public trust in government and voter turnout in city elections?

A. Involvement with the public and communications, as well as pride in Margate.
