Richard Heene

We all remember Richard Heene. In 2009, Heene claimed his young son Falcon had accidentally taken flight aboard an experimental hot air balloon, triggering a massive rescue effort and gaining national media attention. As it turned out, the boy's feet had never left the ground. When police determined the incident was a hoax, Heene was sentenced to fines and jail time.Chris Schneider, Getty Images
