SEASON HIGHLIGHT: Concluded her cross country career as the only girl from Broward County to earn a medal at the state meet with a 10th-place finish in Class 2A in a personal-best time of 18:59. OF NOTE: The University of Florida-bound senior came back strong after missing the 2009 state series with a stress fracture of her right leg. She gave up club soccer to concentrate on cross country and provided the veteran leadership on a team that finished sixth at state in Class 2A with four freshmen and a sophomore among seven runners. Huskey was runner-up at the BCAA Championships as the Chiefs finished a close second to St. Thomas Aquinas; she finished fourth in the district and region meets. ATHLETE'S QUOTE: "This was my first summer of training with no soccer. I felt more fresh, and I was healthy all year. I wanted to come back strong and have an awesome season coming off a good track season. I'm happy with my performance, being the only [girl] from Broward County to medal at state."
