Detectives arrested 51-year-old Dewey Norris after learning he used a hidden pen camera -- a device that looks like an ink pen but has a concealed camera inside of it -- in the bathroom of his Mulberry home to record four girls -- ages 14, 15, 16 and 19-years-old -- as they undressed, according to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
But Norris' dirty little secret was reportedly uncovered by a friend of his who had access to both his home and computer. After stumbling upon a still video clip of the bathroom while checking files, the friend then began to search Norris' desk and an unlocked safe in his bedroom closet where he found 53 separate videos on 7 different DVD's of the nude girls, the arrest affidavit stated.
The friend notified deputies.
Post-Miranda, Norris allegedly 'fessed up to placing the hidden camera into the bathroom prior to each girl going in.
But detectives had their own proof: Norris' face can be seen in the videos while he placed the camera in the bathroom, according to the release.
Now here's the scary part.
Norris also told detectives that he has been employed by the Hillsborough County School Board for over 20 years as an air conditioning unit mechanic, detectives said.
Norris is charged wiith four counts Video Voyeurism of a Child Under Age 16, and 49 counts Video Voyeurism of a Child Over Age 16, as well as one count Destroying Evidence. More FloriDUHCopyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
