Cornelius Harvey McGillicuddy IV, known to most people as Connie Mack IV, is joining the ranks of many other former elected officials – including his father – by joining a K Street lobbying firm in the nation’s capital.
Mack is a former Gulf Coast member of Congress, son of a former U.S. Senator, unsuccessful 2012 Republican nominee for U.S. Senate and – perhaps most important – a former state representative from Fort Lauderdale before he moved across Alligator Alley to capture an open congressional seat.
He’ll be a partner and senior policy advisor for Liberty Partners.
Monday’s press release states:
Congressman Mack will focus his time on legislative and regulatory strategy for the firm's clients and will play an integral role in the firm's continued client growth.
Andrew L. Woods, Chairman and Managing Partner of Liberty Partners Group, said, "Congressman Mack's joining Liberty Partners Group adds significant capabilities to the firm in a variety of key domestic and international areas. His extensive experience and relationships are an invaluable addition to our clients and team. Liberty Partners Group is honored to have Congressman Mack join us."
Congressman Mack added, "Businesses of every size and shape operate at the intersection of public policy, politics and business. I am confident that my experiences in Congress, Tallahassee - and even along the campaign trail - will allow me to offer my colleagues at Liberty Partners Group and our clients a valuable perspective as they seek to navigate the challenges of Washington."
During his time in Congress, Congressman Mack was a recognized champion of a variety of conservative and pro-business public policy matters.
He served on the Transportation & Infrastructure, Budget, Government Oversight, and Foreign Affairs Committees, providing him with wide-reaching areas of influence and responsibilities over key areas of both the private and public sectors. As Chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Congressman Mack was actively engaged in international business and political issues that impacted Latin America and the entire Western Hemisphere.
Congressman Mack also served as the Chairman of the Republican Study Committee's Repeal Caucus where he led the effort to identify antiquated and overly burdensome laws and regulations that negatively and needlessly affect businesses and the U.S. economy.
A sought after opinion leader, Congressman Mack is a frequent guest and commentator on numerous national news networks including CNN, FOX and MSNBC and is a periodic contributor to an array of newspapers and blogs.
Congressman Mack served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2005-2013 and is part of a family committed to public service. His wife, Mary Bono Mack, was a U.S. representative from California's 45th Congressional District from from 1998-2013. His father Connie Mack III, is a retired U.S. Senator from Florida, who also serves as Chairman Emeritus of Liberty Partners Group.
