Jensen Beach: Find Old Florida at Conchy Joe's

If you want to enjoy a piece of "Old Florida," Conchy Joe's in Jensen Beach is a find. Located on the Indian River, this waterfront restaurant has a small-town tropical atmosphere and a menu with fresh seafood dishes such as grouper marsala, crunchy grouper and enough raw bar selections to make this a favorite stop along the Treasure Coast. A few blocks away you can stroll through the heart of Jensen Beach's quaint downtown, which offers shops specializing in the original works of local artists and artisans, including watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings; hand crafted pottery; stained glass, and custom jewelry. Conchy Joe's makes an interesting stop along Indian River Drive, a scenic waterfront route through a less-developed part of the Treasure Coast. The area north of Jensen Beach looks like it hasn't changed much in decades. -- Fern Parker, Jensen Beach Getting There: Take I-95 north to Stuart Exit 101, State Road 76, and go east about 6.5 miles to U.S. 1. Go 4 miles north on U.S. 1 to Jensen Beach Boulevard and turn right (East). At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Pineapple Drive and then make a left onto Indian River Drive. In a nutshell, Conchy Joe's is at the west end of the Jensen Beach Causey. 3945 NE Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
