Vally Getejanc, Davie PD

The first day Davie Police Officer Vally Getejanc didn't show up for trial, a jury acquitted him of charges he assaulted his pregnant wife. The second day he didn't show up - he had already fled to Italy - Getejanc effectively scuttled plans for a separate trial already scheduled by the court. A second jury would have heard more serious charges against him, based on an incident a few weeks later involving the same woman. He came back and pleaded guilty in late 2011. He was sentenced to a year of house arrest and three years' probation.
