Step through the fortified iron door into the blast-hardened tunnel and you're inside the bomb shelter built in 1961 to protect President John F. Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The bunker is on Peanut Island, reachable only by boat. Details: Tours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Sunday; arrive via private boat or water taxi, available from the Riviera Beach and Sailfish marinas.
