& Healthcare Association and other parties before the rate hearing began two weeks ago. But the Office of Public Counsel, Florida Retail Federations and others say the settlement is a bad deal for consumers.
The parties have not been allowed to talk about the settlement during the technical hearings, which could finish up Thursday night. . The new hearings are a problem for some parties in the case, one who said he couldn't get a flight to Tallahassee the night before Yom Kippur, a Jewish day of atonement, and another who said he was unavailable in September.
But Chairman Ronald Brise said he had considered Yom Kippur in selecting the dates, but offered to consider a later starting time.
