PortMiami will welcome the 4,345-guest cruise ship MSC Divina affectionately called “A Diva Like No Other” Tuesday, Nov. 19 shortly after 7:15 a.m.
The MSC Cruises ship will depart on a three-day Bahamian celebration cruise Nov. 20 marking Miami as its first North American port departure.
MSC Divina launched in Europe in May 2012, and is the first MSC Cruises ship to be based year-round in North America.
Prior to this, Italian cruise operator MSC Cruises had based its South Florida ships at
Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale for the fall-winter seasons. In late 2012 MSC Cruises announced it would relocate operations to PortMiami in fall 2013 as it had more weekend berth capacity to accommodate its expanded North American program.
Divina’s features include seven restaurants, 18 bars and lounges, five swimming pools, a bowling alley, casino and the line's signature MSC Yacht Club, an exclusive VIP section that offers suite guests round-the-clock butler and concierge service and select complimentary wines and beverages, among other amenities.
