Jeff Atwater, R-North Palm Beach, Senate president

Chose five members of the current Public Service Commission Nominating Council and members of two Senate committees that confirm new PSC members. Received more than $42,000 since early 2009 from utilities and those who represent them for his state Chief Financial Officer campaign and his fundraising committee. Nephew Brady Atwater worked for FPL and now an affiliate.

Atwater said he didn't receive input from utility representatives and didn't tell senators which way to vote on PSC appointees this year, but he said he did tell some on the PSC nominating council to refrain from attending events with utility representatives as they prepared to make their decisions. He didn't know about his nephew's job until after he got it, according to his campaign spokesman.
